US: Attempted Intrusion at President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Residence; Suspect Shot Dead

/Palm Beach: An armed individual attempted to breach the secure perimeter of President Donald Trump’s private residence, Mar-a-Lago, in Florida. The suspect was shot by security personnel after unlawfully entering the restricted area and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident has been confirmed by the United States Secret Service. News agency Associated Press also reported the development.




Official Statement from the Secret Service

According to a statement issued by the Secret Service, at approximately 1:30 a.m. local time, agents along with a deputy from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) shot an individual who had unlawfully entered the secured grounds of Mar-a-Lago.

The identity of the suspect has not yet been disclosed, pending notification of next of kin. Authorities confirmed that the individual was declared deceased at the scene.

Suspect Carried a Shotgun and Fuel Can

Officials stated that the individual was first spotted at the north gate of Mar-a-Lago carrying a shotgun and a fuel can.

Secret Service agents and the PBSO deputy discharged their weapons to neutralize the threat. No agents or law enforcement personnel were injured during the incident.

Investigation Underway by Three Agencies

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the U.S. Secret Service, and the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office are jointly investigating the incident. The inquiry includes reviewing the suspect’s background, activities, possible motives, and the use of force.

In accordance with agency policy, the Secret Service agents involved have been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

No Protected Individual Present at the Time

Authorities stated that no individual under Secret Service protection was present at the residence at the time of the incident.

The episode once again underscores the importance of heightened vigilance and stringent security measures at presidential residences.
